Gary, IN_ The KIPP charter school program invests in underserved communities with middle schools that teach students to 'work hard' and 'assign yourself'. The new school for Gary, IN aligned itself with local initiatives to be "more than just a school" by creating strategies at different scales: site, regional, national and global. The school aligned with ongoing restortion efforts and became a gateway to a future ecopark with land recovered from the shrinking steel mills.
